Verse of the Day:
"But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do." — Psalm 73:28 (NLT)
Devotional Thought: There are moments in life when we are tempted to compare ourselves to others their success, their happiness, their blessings. Psalm 73 captures that struggle. Asaph, the psalmist, wrestled with the seeming prosperity of the wicked while he tried to live righteously. But then, he had a heart-shifting revelation: being close to God is far better than anything the world can offer.
To be near God is to have peace that surpasses understanding, joy that isn’t tied to circumstances, and strength in the face of trials. When we make the Sovereign Lord our shelter, we find ourselves anchored in unshakable hope. His presence becomes our refuge, and His love becomes our testimony.
Let this be your reminder today: you don’t have to chase what the world values. Stay close to God. That’s the greatest treasure of all.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for the reminder that the best place I can be is near you. Forgive me for the times I’ve been distracted by what others have or by what the world celebrates. Help me to draw closer to you daily—to make you my refuge and my source of strength. I want my life to reflect your goodness and point others to your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Daily Declaration: I declare that I am staying close to God. He is my shelter, my strength, and my joy. I will trust in Him and boldly share the wonderful things He has done in my life.
